UI AND UX DESIGN

UX design is essentially engineering for behaviour. Every system has its own patterns, dependencies and bottlenecks. Our job is to find them, model them, and design interfaces that match how people actually move through your data, not how a wireframe assumes they will. We use a range of analytics, heatmaps, and flow models to expose irritation and rebuild clean effortless user journeys.

Most of our work happens in the space between design and logic, mapping information architecture, testing interactions, tightening component behaviour. From SaaS dashboards to e-commerce funnels, we apply the same principle: clear hierarchy, minimal cognitive load, and no dead ends. Based in London and Surrey, we design experiences that are intuitive, and measurable in performance data.

Let’s Talk

OUR DESIGN PROJECT PRINCIPLES

What Success Looks Like

Good UX is the invisible system that makes products feel obvious. Success is when users glide through complex logic without thinking, when micro-interactions reinforce intent, and every conversion event traces cleanly back to design.

We measure it in drop-off reduction, task completion speed, and dwell time.

Problems We Solve

Most digital products break where logic meets layout. Journeys fragment, navigation trees don’t mirror mental models, and interaction weight slows people down. We rebuild that layer. Information architecture, component hierarchy, state management, all tuned around users.

Whether it’s a form that never saves state or an e-commerce funnel leaking at checkout, we isolate irritation and design it out.

We Optimise

We monitor heatmaps, session replays, and event analytics to find friction before users notice it. Each release is a new hypothesis, test, measure, refine. Over time, we evolve every pattern: microcopy, motion, loading states, input logic.

We are looking to achieve faster paths, cleaner data, higher conversion, and interfaces that keep adapting as the business grows.

CATCH APP AND WEBSITE UX

Designing better journeys for anglers

With Catch, we took something basic and made it matter. It started as a booking system for fisheries, but anglers wanted more. We rebuilt it into a proper digital companion, helping them record sessions, learn faster, and get more from the sport. On the website side, we stripped back the clutter, fixed the journeys, and lifted conversions by focusing on what anglers actually needed to see and do.

ORBUS SOFTWARE WEB DESIGN

Helping a market-leader architect their clients’ digital futures

Orbus helps some of the world’s biggest brands plan digital change. Their platform was strong, but the website wasn’t pulling its weight. We rebuilt it on Sitefinity, putting a design system and component library in place so their marketing team could move faster, stay consistent, and spend less time fighting the CMS.

HURTWOOD HOUSE

Driving growth through digital marketing support

Our partnership with Hurtwood House delivers strong results through strategic paid media management and conversion rate optimisation. We increased website traffic whilst reducing costs through targeted campaigns, while our CRO work employs best practice design patterns to lift conversion rates and enhance the school’s digital enrolment pipeline.

FAQs

Questions we are asked before we are hired

What outcomes can we expect?

At our ux design company we measure success in more conversions, fewer support tickets or just happier users who keep coming back. We start with user research to map your customer journeys against real customer insights. Our approach is designed to keep the scope tight while simultaneously lifting user satisfaction.

How do projects usually start?

We ask questions, lots of questions well before we run a competitor analysis or speak to potential users to understand their frustrations. This gives us a clear problem statement and a shared success metric before anyone opens Figma. It’s quick, it’s collaborative, and sets the roadmap for better decisions later.

Will you work with our team?

Always. Most UX projects sit between design and engineering, so alignment matters. We work inside your workflow, Slack, Jira, Figma, whatever you use. Designers share early states, document interaction logic, and keep the dev team unblocked with regular iterations, open feedback, and a build process that keeps product momentum instead of slowing it down.

What do you actually deliver?

You’ll get an interactive prototype, design specifications and a component library with documentation that explains behaviour for basic website functionality. When scale’s required, we build full design systems with tokens, states, and usage rules, so your team can extend without us.

Can you improve what we have?

In our ux agency we run usability tests to spot irritation and dead ends before redesigning anything. That means heatmaps, session replays, analytics with real user data. From broken forms to misaligned flows, we fix the pain points and keep what’s already working.

Do you build or just design?

We do both. Our UX and UI designers work alongside front-end developers, testing states and motion as they go. if you already have engineers, we plug into their stack and workflow, sharing interaction logic and component specs directly. Either way, you get interfaces built the right way, designed and coded as one.

Which sectors do you work in?

There is probably not a sector we have not worked in and that includes industry expertise in health, education, finance, energy, and emerging tech, basically anywhere that UX could the difference between conversion and drop-off. Startups get all the speed and focus of ui design; enterprise teams get structure and governance. Whatever the size, the outcome’s the same: interfaces that guide people clearly through complex logic.

Can you help with brand and look?

Yes. We adapt brand systems for digital use, typography colour contrast that meets accessibility and UI components that stay on brand at any resolution. The visuals come last, after the logic works. Beautiful is easy; usable takes thought.

How do you handle e-commerce?

Our design team starts with behaviour, where users leave, what they search for, what stalls in a checkout workflow. Then we map that against intuitive search, clear product data, logical checkout flow. We fix friction first, from micro-copy to basket logic, and remove anything that slows conversion.

How do you price and scope?

Projects are broken-down into unique user journeys and deliverables so everyone knows what’s in and what’s not. If priorities shift, we manage it with change requests or like-for-like swaps, one feature out, another in. This was scope stays balanced and timelines don’t slip. You’ll see the cadence, milestones, and checkpoints up front.

Do you manage content too?

We can, yes. We write, edit, and structure content so it fits the design and reads naturally in flow. Sometimes that means rewriting what’s there, other times creating it from scratch. We shape tone, hierarchy, and layout together so words, visuals, and interactions feel like one product. The copy’s clear, human, and built to convert.

What makes Ronins different?

We’re founders ourselves, so we know the pain of having to spend money . We treat your budget how we would spend it. We don’t clock off when the hours run out; we finish when the job’s done. That’s why clients stay.

We were going in circles until Ronins stepped in, they got us focused, showed us what mattered, and built a solution that didn’t rip out everything we’d already invested in.

Neil Rafferty

The Ronins team have been really great to work with from day one, they bring a wealth of new ideas and always back up their assumptions with data, ensuring the decisions taken are grounded.
