FAQS
Questions we are asked before we are hired
How do you set the trails up?
We visit your site with you first then we walk it end to end and mark where each QR makes sense and discuss the prize mechanics. Then we design the experience with your branding and our developers build the treasure hunt in a secure and GDPR way.
Do we need Wi-Fi everywhere?
Not fully but it helps. Each QR opens in the visitor’s mobile browser, so as long as they’ve got a mobile signal it works.
What happens if a QR gets damaged?
When we generate the QR codes we pass these over to you to ask your local printer to add these do your branding on your site. We always suggest printing a few extras just in case one goes missing or gets damaged.
Can we see results during the event?
Right now extracting the data is a manual export, but we can run them for you on request , but most clients wait until the end of the day or once the event’s done so the data’s complete.
How long does setup take?
Most implementations take around 6 to 8 weeks from sign-off to launch. There is a lot to do to ensure we gain the maximum conversion into consistent visitors while providing an engaging user experience that people will talk about after the event.
Can we add sponsors or partners?
Yes we do this a lot especially in events, we add sponsor logos, prizes or even their own QR codes in the software. It’s a good way to share costs or drive more reach for them.
How secure is the data?
The simple answer is very, all data is stored on Microsoft Azure services hosted in the UK with strict access control and handled in a GDPR-compliant way. Every scan is anonymised with a session id and is managed by us until we hand the data over to you at the end of the event.
Can the trails run indoors and outdoors?
Yes of course, we have handled both, The QR codes just need to be visible and reachable and if they are outside we recommend either laminating them or placing them in a perspex case.
What if people can’t scan the code?
It’s rare but it happens, sometimes older phones don’t support QR codes, We always test across a range of devices before launch to reduce that risk. Our platform support most modern phones up to 3 generations old.
Can we use our own domain name?
Yes, that’s easy and it happens all the time, you just need access to your DNS to add a secure CNAME record and SSL certificate or we can do it for you.
What happens after the event?
Once the event ends we export all the data, clean it up and send it over to you in a simple format that we agree in advance so it’s importable into your CRM system.
Can we run more than one trail?
Yes you can, some of our clients split large sites into smaller zones, others run different themes over the course of a year. It all runs from the same platform so the setup time drops after the first one.
